These Hands Don’t Lie

Musicians like photographers are storytellers.

When it comes to composing an image a photographer will observe a flowing stream of small moments and try to capture the emotion of a wider scene in a single image. Whereas a musician will compose a complex stream, merging a series of moments that capture the listeners emotions over the course of the piece, transporting them to the precise moment of original and sometimes divine inspiration. Some musicians can stun an audience with their incredible stage presence, whilst others can inspire deviance with a voice too unnatural to be human. But very few musicians can claim to create a niche of their own with those that do often flying under the radar in the mainstream.I have been fortunate to be able to work with some very talented musicians recently and being exposed to the intimacies of those continuing to make music throughout these challenging times has gone someway to relieving the personal sadness that comes from not being able to gather at events and within the music scene.

Feature image from a new series of work with Bang Bang Firecracker and Kieron Berry - Guitarist coming soon…As a documentary photographer at heart I am a sucker for stories. There are infinite stories around us, some we can’t grasp, like the air we breathe. So when music tells a story I’m captured, especially when culturally or currently relevant. May rock and roll last forever! #savethemusic #saveourvenues #saveourstages #WeAreEvents #WeMakeEvents #RedAlert #SaveTheArts #SaveTheArtsUK #rockandroll #musicphotography #musicphotographer
